Mission Statement

Bellaire Youth Initiative’s mission is to provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment where youth and their peers meet to relax, learn, share and be themselves in a setting supervised by dedicated volunteers.

Vision Statement

Bellaire Youth Initiative’s Vision is to inspire our students – by developing their curiosity, skills and knowledge – to thrive and be the best they can be.

Operating as a non-profit organization, Bellaire Youth Initiative offers after school opportunities for K-12 students. We were founded in 2013 and remain fully funded by financial support
from community donors – business, friends, families, and churches and grants.

We are managed by a Board of Directors with paid coordinators for Elementary and High School programs. Volunteers assist in all activities, programs, and projects. But we are always looking for additional help!! We offer students an opportunity to feel part of the wider community and to have learning experiences beyond the school curriculum.

Current programs and activities include:

  • Eagles’ Nest: Tuesday (grades 1-3) and Thursday (grades 2-4), two-hour after-school program meets at the Middle School.
  • 4th – 12th Grade: Two-hour after-school initiatives are offered throughout the school year on different days. Initiatives take place at school and include Biking, Cooking, Disc Golf, Golf, Hiking, Robotics, Science Club, Skating Rink/Skate Exchange, Skiing, Snowshoeing, Student Garden, and Student Pantries.
  • Robotics Program: meets on Friday at the middle school.
